Aubrey Bailey, a San Diego native, is entering her third year working for San Diego State University. She is currently serving as an academic advisor for the Football (Defense) and Swim & Dive teams, and as Senior Learning Specialist for a number of student athletes from various sports. In her position, Aubrey supports student-athletes and staff in the areas of course selection and enrollment, declaration of majors, college and university requirements, as well as NCAA academic eligibility rules and regulations.
Aubrey comes to Athletics from the Fowler College of Business where she worked as an academic advisor for San Diego State’s Business-Marketing students. During her time with the Fowler College of Business she liaised with Athletics staff, coaches, and potential student-athletes to assess and ensure a smooth transition for those who were looking to pursue a degree in Business.
Prior to her stint at the Mesa, Aubrey was a Special Education Teacher at El Capitan High School inLakeside, CA. She has extensive experience supporting diverse learners in inclusive and self-contained settings. In a high school classroom of 25+ students with mild to moderate disabilities, Aubrey skillfully identified each student’s unique needs—ranging from physical disabilities and sensory impairments to speech deficits and autism—and cultivated a healthy, inspiring, and supportive learning environment. With a deep understanding of challenges like ADHD, anxiety, and depression, she designed, wrote, and implemented individualized lesson plans across a variety of subjects, ensuring access and engagement for all students.
A former collegiate swimmer herself, Aubrey competed all four seasons at Southern Connecticut State University. At Southern Connecticut, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Nutrition in 2018, then went on to earn her Teaching Credential.
